WHAT TO EXPECT As a Remote Technical Support Engineer, you log into our Customer Operations Center (COPC) and provide high-quality technical assistance. This role keeps you on your toes as you interact with clients and tackle various computer issues. With your troubleshooting expertise, you diagnose and solve problems with computer software and hardware. You effectively use our ticketing system to manage tasks. Proactively, you observe our data analytics dashboard to identify early system warnings and promptly resolve issues. Communication and collaboration are key, and you work with our service team to repair or replace technology. REMOTE TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS Technical diploma in a mechanical, electrical, automation engineering, or related field 2+ years of experience with process automation or customer service Industrial standards experience with knowledge about PROFINET, PROFIBUS, or network topology Ability to read and interpret programmable logic controller (PLC) code Knowledge of process flows, P&ID, wiring diagrams, electrical circuits, HMI, and manuals with the ability to explain technical issues in layman’s terms Basic knowledge of computer programs such as Windows Server, VMware, and TIA Portal Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills Excellent English communication skills, phone etiquette, and interpersonal skills Willingness to work on-call shifts, occasionally take on weeknight or weekend hours, and travel 10% – 20% Preferred criteria Field service experience Knowledge of another language like Spanish or Portuguese OUR MISSION Buhler Group is a family-owned Swiss company that creates sustainable innovations for a better world.
