We set them. Job Summary: The Senior Data Analytics & Reporting Developer will be responsible for the accurate, consistent, and timely reporting of claims financial and operational results. The developer will ensure report integrity by implementing systematic improvements that automate, streamline, and modernize the reporting, data visualization, and business intelligence processes to facilitate the communication of one version of the truth. This position has the opportunity to work with various levels of leadership throughout the enterprise. This position is a permanent remote home-based worker. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses. Key Responsibilities: Independently design and build medium to high complexity financial and/or operational reports Design, build, populate, and maintain medium to high complexity interactive infographic dashboards using BI software Ideate and implement creative reporting and data visualization concepts to gain efficiencies, best depict information, and craft action plans to improve overall business processes Partner with team members, and business partners, to ensure complete post-implementation validation and user acceptance testing Lead and/or collaborate with cross-functional teams to set up recurring reports and dashboards, and support end-users throughout the reporting product lifecycle Inspire trust and confidence throughout the organization by leveraging strategic and diplomatic relationship building skills Provide high quality (accurate, timely, relevant) financial and operational reports to support business partners’ performance improvement initiatives Cross-train junior consultants Education and Experience: 4 year Bachelors Degree 3 or more years of related experience Strong experience with SQL and Python/R Experience with Power BI or Tableau strongly preferred Insurance background preferred but not required Functional Skills: Intermediate to advanced ability to build reports and/or technical tools using Power BI and Tableau Intermediate to advanced technical knowledge of data querying and ETL processes utilizing SQL and Python/R Intermediate to advanced technical knowledge with data management processes (i.e.; data flow within systems, data mapping, meta data, etc.) and/or experience with integrating data from multiple sources, including relational databases, unstructured data, and/or other enterprise data stores General insurance knowledge Ability to focus on attention to details while utilizing systemic thinking to form ideas to add additional value Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively in a virtual team environment Willingness to challenge the status quo and to be a champion of change Effective time management and organization skills Strong oral and written communication skills Notes: The preceding description is not designed to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities.
