We are searching for an innovative Sr Data Engineer/Data Architect to join our experienced Core Operations Reporting and Insights (CORI) team in a remote capacity.This creative role offers an excellent opportunity to directly impact an innovative function and secure your future with an industry leader while leveraging your deep data knowledge and skillset.This position will be a primary contributor to solve challenging business pain points while accelerating data modernization efforts and providing key inputs into data strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, enhancement, and integration of analytical data products and/or data warehouse solutions, using technologies such as Snowflake SQL, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Python, and Teradata
- Conduct deep analysis of data sources and the data/system landscape related to medical claims and adjacent member, clinical, or financial domains
- Partner with business/process SMEs to understand and become domain expert on end-to-end flows and pain points, and how various data elements, domains, and subject areas are related and utilized
- Provide strategy and roadmap recommendations for extending and integrating existing & new data models
- Build and test processes to ensure optimal design and performance for large data volumes
- Promote governance via consistent and traceable controls and standards to ensure accurate, reliable and high-quality pipelines and deliveries
- Develop data models, data flows, design documents and technical specifications
- Create builds of complex data sets & extracts
- Guide, train, instruct and assist team members with technical issues and design challenges
- Assist when needed to support daily or weekly data pipeline processing

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data product/data warehouse development and design
- 5+ years data analysis & developing deep understanding of data domains
- 5+ years of Snowflake, Teradata, Oracle, MS SQL Server or other SQL, PL/SQL development
- Experience with mid – high volume ETL/ELT data processes and pipelines
- Experience with formal System Development Lifecycle and Data Quality processes
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD tools, GitHub, especially in cloud environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare data experience (experience with medical claims; and/or member enrollment, provider or clinical domains)
- Experience with Snowflake, Azure, Databricks and/or other cloud data warehouse technologies
- Experience with Agile development methodology
- Experience with Kafka data streaming would be beneficial
- Team-oriented, communicative, proactive

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
