Syberry is the technology partner for a U.S.-based capital management company, and we are establishing an engineering center in Europe for them. The team is building the technology platform to run the company. This is a greenfield development project utilizing Python, Kotlin, React, and AWS as the primary tech stack.
We are seeking a Senior Java/Kotlin Engineer to develop a financial platform for investments managers that will enable the analysis of financial data and facilitating informed decision-making based on this analysis.
Why join us?
- Learn from top Wall Street experts: you will work in one team with quants and portfolio managers who have 15+ years of experience in the field.
- Greenfield development: participate in designing and building an entire tech platform for running the company from scratch. Our oldest code is just 1.5 years old.
- Cutting-edge practices: we embrace XP principles like TDD, CI/CD, pair programming, and trunk-based development to ship value daily
- Real challenges: everything you work on gets tested by real users immediately. No boring tasks with unknown value
- Zero bureaucracy: we’re a startup so enjoy minimal bureaucracy with 90% of decisions made within 2 business days
- Small, skilled teams: we’re a crew of 30 experienced engineers, working in small teams of up to 5 so don’t expect communication overload
- True remote: No Return To Office. Work from wherever you want.
About you:
- Strong engineering experience (we mean it): we believe at least 5 years of software engineering is a good predictor (however, you can challenge this belief)
- Hands-on experience with AWS: EC2, ECS, S3, RDS
- Fluent English: for daily communication with native speakers from the U.S.
- Availability until 7 PM CET: our product team and end users operate in the Eastern Time Zone, so we need an overlap for effective collaboration. Still, we expect 8h of work daily, so you could start later or have breaks.
