Senior Linux System Engineer (m/f/d) Permanent position, full-time – Cologne Your tasks
- Managing the system administrators within the “Cloud Based Platforms” competence team
- The conception and further development of our automation and container-based solutions
- The planning, development, optimization and implementation of individual system solutions for our business and education customers
- Securing and hardening centralized and decentralized Linux systems
- The monitoring of provided services
- Creating scripts and playbooks for automation solutions in the server environment
- Advancing digitalization in the education sector
- The willingness to occasionally take part in on-call duty
Your profile
- You have completed training as an IT specialist (or comparable) and have already gained at least 5 years of professional experience
- You have several years of experience in the administration and operation of Linux systems
- You have knowledge of automating processes with the help of Ansible or similar tools
- A good technical understanding, a strong service and solution orientation as well as a structured and careful way of working characterize you
- You work just as well independently as part of a team
We require you to be fluent in written and spoken German
Your experience
Sound knowledge (at least in combination) in the following areas is desirable:
- Administration of Debian-based Linux distributions in a business environment
- Provision of Platform as a Service and Software as a Service
- Setup and operation of virtual servers on highly available VMware clusters
- Experience in the use of Ansible, Docker, GIT and relational databases
- Monitoring and performance analysis
- High availability cluster
- Network and firewall
- Directory services
