Job Description
The System Developer role will have the following ongoing activities:
- Catalog Item customization – many of the requests in our backlog require either significant customization of existing catalog forms or creation of new forms and workflows. New scoped applications may be required. The Senior Developer would manage and implement many of these requests.
- Integrations – IT Leadership has positioned CaesarsNow at the center of the overall IT management strategy. Multiple integrations are required to enable the level of visibility required to achieve success. The System Developer will coordinate and implement integrations with management applications such as Tanium, Tenable, ThousandEyes, Dynatrace, SCCM, and more.
- Automation initiatives – there are multiple initiatives in the CNOW backlog to automate recurring tasks, mostly related to server updates. This role will assist with implementation of these initiatives as well as the development of new automations that have not been defined yet.
- CMDB ongoing maintenance – the CMDB has become a key strategic resource to our management plans. Following initial discovery and service mapping efforts implemented by contractors, the System Developer will play an important role in keeping the CMDB healthy and optimized.
- Requirements gathering and customer interaction – The System Developer will process incoming new enhancements by reviewing new enhancement submissions, and coordinating requirements clarification, deployment, and testing conversations with our customers.
- Retro-fitting recent customizations for best practices – given the speed at which the team has had to deliver integrations over the last year, best practices were not always possible. The Senior Developer would work to architect and implement improved solutions to upgrade those integrations that leverage best practices.
- Platform usability improvements – CaesarsNow needs usability and design improvements to make it as effective as possible. The System Developer will work the Director, ServiceNow development and Sr. Director of Service Management to define, coordinate and implement these improvements.
- Platform upgrades – The frequency of security patches coming from ServiceNow is increasing, and each patch or upgrade requires deployment and testing in each of our environments (Dev, Stage, Production). The System Developer would coordinate the Change schedule with ServiceNow and assist with oversight of these activities.
- A minimum of 5 – 7 years of development experience on the ServiceNow platform covering such areas as ITOM, ITSM Pro, and Software Asset Management
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Certified Application Developer certification
- Experience with a large enterprise deployment of ServiceNow.
- This position will be remote.
