Solutions Engineer - Remote Iowa at Aureon #vacancy #remote

The Solutions Engineer (SE) is responsible for supporting the sales team in acquiring new business as well as renewing and upgrading existing business. The SE is responsible for providing technical guidance and developing solutions with Aureon’s clients and prospects throughout the pre and post-sales process. The SE will be required to regularly engage various members of the Aureon Operations and Engineering teams for collaboration, as needed, prior to communicating with the client.

The SE helps drive discovery and definition of customer requirements, assists in client presentations, provides design options and costs of client-specific solutions. They approve designs, assist with quotes and contracts as well as provide guidance for provisioning and installation of new services, interfacing with Aureon’s central service delivery and operations personnel to ensure a smooth hand-off of all new services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs system and network modeling, data analysis and planning to design a solution that will meet the client’s business needs within financial budget guidelines.
  • Researches software and hardware products or services, and finds best solutions to meet the client’s business requirements.
  • Works with the client to contribute to the improvement of business processes, testing systems to ensure functionality is satisfactory while recommending new systems or product upgrades.
  • Presents and translates the design to customers to ensure the design will meet the client requirements.
  • Generation of “Statement of Work” documents that follows Company guidelines.
  • Assist with the development of internal business processes to improve the sales and product delivery.
  • Maintain knowledge of the company products and services to effectively add value to new and existing customers.
  • Demonstrate commitment to providing outstanding internal and external customer service.
  • Stay current on information technology trends specific to Aureon target customer base and products to better meet the needs of our clients.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently as well as work effectively in a team environment.
  • Assume additional duties as defined by supervisor and executive management.
  • Assisting Sales in answering questions about the Company’s products and solutions.
  • Able to create an IT roadmap for small to mid-size clients.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Management Systems and 4-6+ years related experience in Managed IT, Telecommunications, Solution Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with designing or managing hosting/infrastructure (Cloud) resources, physical server/storage environments, virtualized IT and LAN/WAN network design for mid-size businesses.
  • Extensive experience with Windows server and desktop operating systems.

Preferred

  • Understanding of different Lay 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 network services architectures, including network capacity planning/modeling
  • Advanced knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model.
  • Experience with IP networking technologies including routing, addressing, filtering, load balancing and peering.
  • Knowledge and experience in network fundamentals, Ethernet, MPLS, VoIP, TDM, Fiber Optics and Secure WAN technologies (physical, logical).

  • General working-knowledge or CRM tools and Ticketing Systems

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 50% local travel required
  • Frequent utilization of manual dexterity and visualizing of a computer screen, required.
  • Primarily indoor, office environment.
  • No unusual physical requirements.
