This is an individual contributor role serving on the Optum Serve technology leadership team. This leader will evolve Optum Serves approach to data management by developing a strategy to move from an on-premise system to a cloud-based solution supporting an event-driven architecture leveraging microservices and distributed database technologies. The senior principal architect will design Optum Serves data systems to comply with a broad set of government information security requirements while maintaining flexibility to meet unique contractual needs. This role will be responsible for conducting design, analysis of alternatives, product selection and implementation of data systems including: integrations with transactional systems, ETL tools, data warehouses, data lakes, data marts. The principal architect achieves these outcomes by fostering a collaborative approach to data solutions including product developers, DBAs, reporting teams, and functional leaders in both business and technology teams. Successful completion of the NACLC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role. NACLC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense. Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received.
