For which tasks (responsibilities)?
Responds to customer service requests and provides production support coverage
Supports, and improves production, development, test and DR environments on supported Data Center platforms. Develops tools and scripts to assist with routine maintenance tasks (bash, Perl, and Python, PowerShell, etc.).
Assists development teams with major Linux based application installs, upgrades and patching
Creates, maintains, and updates platform documentation and standard operating procedures
What kind of professional are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, preferably in a technical discipline
Minimum one (1) year of systems administration and troubleshooting experience with Linux or Unix, including hands-on IT infrastructure operations
Technical knowledge understanding current industry hardware, protocols, and standards (e.g., IP, TCP, UDP, NTP, DNS, SMTP, SSH, syslog, etc.)
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Will be a plus
Creating event traps, alerts and logging capabilities using any scripting language
Ability to identify, isolate, and resolve production and non-production system issues, handle service requests and follow support processes utilizing application troubleshooting skills and abilities to resolve complex problems
Experience in Linux systems lifecycle operations
Responsibility, accountability and credibility in all work and research assignments and demonstrating the ability to be highly self-motivated and self-directed
Written and oral communication skills with the ability to describe in details the steps and approach taken to complete your tasks, ability to deal with stressors resulting from project deadlines and multi-tasked environment
Experience working with and configuring automation tools such as Jenkins or Ansible is a plus
