It is how we connect and interact with our clients, business partners and fellow associates.Job Summary Foodbuy is the foodservice industry’s leading Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) focused on lowering purchasing and product costs for Foodbuy clients.The Senior Director, Business Development position is responsible for all levels of communication, program penetration, business strategy, satisfaction, and financial growth within assigned Foodbuy clients.Responsibilities:Develop, Build and Maintain strong relationships with key contacts in key National and Regional Hospitality and Leisure accounts to enhance business opportunitiesIdentify supply cost reduction opportunities for Foodbuy clients while increasing contract utilization and Foodbuy account revenue marginGain customer commitment to convert products within manufacturer categories and from one manufacturer to another to achieve cost savingsUtilize internal support tools to identify opportunities to increase purchasing and utilization volumes and revenue for the client and FoodbuyFacilitates process of evaluation and implementation of products and services that deliver on expressed needs of Foodbuy clients with suppliersResponsible for the implementation and conversion of new Foodbuy clients to the Foodbuy programAsks strategic probing questions of Foodbuy clients to gain insight into long-term needs and prioritiesProvides data and insights to assist Foodbuy clients in prioritizing needsCreates clear and concise written materials and presentations addressing complex issuesTakes appropriate steps during and after meetings face-to-face or remotely to evaluate whether key messages were received and understoodNegotiates with Foodbuy clients to achieve buy-in and alignment with key initiativesMaximizes the impact of resources within sourcing and category development on Foodbuy clients activitiesIncrease the commitment level of each assigned Foodbuy clientIncrease financial performance for each Foodbuy client and Foodbuy (decreasing costs of goods, increasing Foodbuy income)Ensure all Foodbuy client purchase volume is capturedEnsure each Foodbuy client unit is linked to all appropriate agreements (Capture)Ensure committed member reporting and business reviews are timely and actionableDevelop new business opportunities in the segmented channelsInternal ROI for Foodbuy clients measured by FoodbuyMonitors performance against targets/deadlines and develops corrective strategy when they are not achieved Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is requiredProven experience successfully leading a sales team with direct reportsAbility to manage financial resources and costs in order to ensure the achievement of strategic organizational objectives and to increase the profitability of Foodbuy.Minimum of 10+ years managing Large Regional and/or National accounts in the Food Service and/or GPO Industry preferredStrong understanding of food service and hospitality procurementFoodservice Distribution experience a plusIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft suite of applications is requiredAbility to travel 30%+ primarily to Charlotte and client locationsA strong understanding of the financial, commercial, technological and social aspects of Foodbuy’s business and value chain and how it relates to the competitive environment.Excellent communication skills both verbal and writtenExcellent customer/client relationship skills, both internally and externallyAbility to build effective long-term interpersonal relationships proactively across functions both within Foodbuy and external parties, working with others towards mutually acceptable solutions.Strong influencing skills-must be able to persuade people’s attitudes, behaviors and decisions to desired resultsExcellent negotiation skills–proven ability to engage others and handle interactions with individuals or groups to obtain commitment, compromise or settlement in a way that promotes win-win solutions and mutual goals or interestsApply to Foodbuy todayFoodbuy is a member of Compass Group USAClick here to Learn More about the Compass StoryCompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
