For which tasks (responsibilities)?

Our studio is looking for a Technical artist to work on many existing and future IPs on various platforms. Candidates should have a solid artistic/visual aesthetic sense and technical knowledge of computer graphics and programming. Experience in creating content is also of great value, together with a talent for problem-solving skills.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

  • At least 5+ years of experience in the same position;

  • Managerial experience;

  • Working experience with various graphics software;

  • Experience with any scripting;

  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4/5;

  • Overall knowledge of computer graphics and graphic APIs (DirectX and OpenGL);

  • Ability to understand complex systems independently, figure out solutions for various issues, and quickly learn new skills.

Preferred skills:

  • Working experience with Unreal Engine 4 (creating materials, Blueprints scripting, lighting, VFX, C++ programming);

  • Experience in communicating with programmers’ teams and solving technical issues that arise during the artist’s work process;

  • Knowledge of various aspects of creating content for games;

  • Working experience with DirectX and/or OpenGL;

  • Experience with writing shaders in HLSL and/or GLSL;

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of specialists;

  • Take responsibility for the team and results;

  • Creating materials and visual effects:

    • Making and organizing materials for environment elements, characters, etc. – all the technical stuff;

    • Creating particle and post-process-based VFX. 

  • Content supervision: 

    • Audit existing content and look for ways to improve pipelines;

    • Developing required tools for the artist team using Blueprints or C++ (in an engine) or MaxScript/Python (in 3ds Max/Maya);

    • Taking part in developing new features for tools with the programmers’ team;

    • Modeling and texturing when prototyping and fixing content issues.

  • Optimization:

    • Constant monitoring of the game’s performance on all platforms;

    • Solving performance issues and bottlenecks.
