The Role The in-house corporate counsel, transactional attorney interested in joining a collegial team of lawyers that together provide legal support to Procurement, Corporate Real Estate, Carrier Relations, Dark Fiber and Rights-of-Way. The Main Responsibilities The ideal candidate will possess a willingness to learn and understand internal business, operational, financial and technical matters to provide sound legal advice and risk analysis, while simultaneously assisting business clients in achieving their commercial objectives. + Conducting contract negotiations; drafting agreements and contract templates + Developing and implementing new contract structures to support new product/technology development efforts; + Clearly and concisely identifying and explaining the ramifications of contractual terms to the business decision makers and third-parties during contract negotiations + Providing ongoing management and maintenance of contracts, including providing contract summaries and interpretations to business units and executive management; and investigating, negotiating and resolving contract disputes. + Generally handles less complex legal matters under the supervision of senior level attorneys and may assist more senior attorneys on more advanced legal matters What We Look For in a Candidate + J.D. degree from an accredited law school. + 4+ years of relevant legal tenure. + Current license to practice law in state where attorney’s office will be located. + Excellent writing, drafting and verbal communications skills. + Organizational, time-management and prioritization capabilities; able to manage workload independently, efficiently and with minimal supervision. + Able to negotiate, prioritize and manage a large volume of contracts and associated issues. + Must be a team player. + Sound business and legal judgment. Compensation The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications. Location Based Pay Ranges $94420 – $118028 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD. $99390 – $124230 in these states: AZ, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY. $104360 – $130448 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI. $109330 – $136665 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
