Working as part of the Privacy, Product and Technology team, provide compliance guidance and practical, actionable solutions to business owners to ensure that regulatory and contractual obligations are met with respect to data protection, export controls, trade sanctions, and cybersecurity. Assist in developing playbooks, processes, and policies associated with trade sanctions, export controls, and cybersecurity regulation; assist with litigation as needed. Support, maintain and implement trade compliance-related notices, policies, guidelines, and other process documentation, ensuring content is up to date and relevant. Analyze, interpret, and apply U.S. export control laws and regulations; handle restricted-party screening results and determine when/if to lift blocked orders. Assist with proactive management of compliance risks associated with export controls, trade sanctions, and cybersecurity. Use understanding of broader legal, regulatory, and market risks and trends to influence and set priorities, proactively assessing tasks, projects and strategic objectives based on the evolving landscape. Support other attorneys negotiating, and directly negotiate as necessary, cybersecurity-related terms in commercial agreements with customers and vendors; advise on other regulatory concerns in connection with onboarding and managing vendors and other third parties.
