JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Responsible for performing complex analysis, design, programming and unit testing of software applications. Develops technology roadmaps and ensures alignment with business needs, service-levels and availability requirement. Participates in incident, request, problem, configuration and change management according to ITIL standards and established service level agreements (SLA). Provides work leadership to professional staff while working as part of multiple project development teams, and through the design, documentation and promotion of solution development standards and governance processes to ensure information quality. Applies healthcare expertise, technical and analytic skills and extensive industry experience in championing a robust scalable secure solution infrastructure across the enterprise. This position has the following specific responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements and integrate with existing systems
  • Assess and evaluate current technology environments to identify solutions for improvement or address gaps or deficiencies
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate objectives into technical strategies.
  • Guide and mentor teams in the implementation of designed architectures, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
  • Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and industry trends to incorporate into strategic planning.
  • Identify potential technology risks and develop mitigation strategies.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Information Services is committed to providing leadership, support and coordination of technology at Samaritan Health Services. The IS Apps Delivery and Ops function manages the operations of our existing services and implements new technology into the organization on behalf of our business customers. Our team includes the 24/7 service desk, application operations and implementation teams. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a computer science related field) or equivalent experience required. Master’s degree preferred. Ten (10) years recent experience in designing and programming applications or components required. Five (5) years recent experience architecting software solutions required. Industry recognized, current and relevant certification required within (1) year of hire. Experience in the following required: The use of relational and hierarchical database languages. Software development lifecycle methodologies and processes (including agile methods). Leading technical teams. Experience in a healthcare environment preferred. Proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar role. Strong understanding of enterprise application integration and enterprise architecture frameworks, preferably TOGAF certified. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment, strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
